1.Tongzhou Campus Overview

RUC's Tongzhou campus was launched in September, 2024. It’s a key element in the development of Beijing's sub-center construction, playing an integral role in relocating non-capital functions from Beijing. It aligns with the national strategy for the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and reflects a strategic step in implementing President Xi Jinping’s directives.

Located in the northeastern part of the sub-center of Beijing, near the Beijing Municipal Government offices, the Tongzhou campus spans approximately 272 acres with a total building area of about 1.05 million square meters.

2.Smart Classrooms

The Tongzhou campus features a diverse range of classrooms, including lecture and seminar rooms, cloud-interactive recording studios, and computer cluster labs, all designed as smart digital classrooms with flexible seating configurations. Each classroom is equipped with the “RUC Future Classroom” intelligent teaching system, facilitating seamless sharing of digital resources and supporting synchronized classes across multiple campuses, as well as hybrid online and in-person teaching. The integration of the teaching resource platform, smart classrooms, and management systems provides a unified, cross-campus digital learning environment for both faculty and students.

3. Dormitories

The campus offers both single and double rooms, each furnished with a private desk, bookshelf, washbasin, and bathroom, with 24-hour access to hot water. Every floor is equipped with a separate water boiler and shower room, as well as a variety of service facilities such as washing machines, water dispensers, and dryers. The dormitories are conveniently situated, with the teaching area to the south, the cafeteria to the north, and the sports field to the west, providing students with a well-rounded and immersive living experience on campus.

4. Dining

The northern cafeteria reflects the rich and diverse food culture of RUC, offering a wide array of dining options including main dining halls, specialty restaurants, ethnic cuisine, cafés, and juice bars. Self-service kiosks and food dispensers improve the convenience of ordering. Designed with a multifunctional concept, the cafeteria also serves as an open space for studying and group discussions during non-dining hours, catering to the needs of both students and faculty for learning and collaboration.

5. Meeting Rooms

The Student Affairs Center is located next to the campus ecological greenbelt, creating a comfortable space for relaxation. Inside the building, there are communal meeting rooms available to meet the needs of academic discussions and seminars.

6. Commercial Services

Supermarkets are open on campus, such as Wumart and Good Neighbor. The ground-floor common areas of the dormitory buildings are equipped with automated coffee machines, vending machines, and ATMs.

7. Sports Facilities

The Tongzhou campus includes a standard track and field stadium, a regulation-size football field, basketball courts, and an indoor gym.

8. Surrounding Amenities

The Tongzhou campus is located near the Beijing Municipal Government offices and adjacent to the Hugezhuang Police Station, ensuring a strong security presence. With excellent transportation links, South Gate 1 is close to Lucheng Station on Metro Line 6, while the West Gate is near the Dongxiayuan Bus Hub. The area is well-served by a variety of amenities, including Hopson One Mall, Lucheng National Fitness Center, the Beijing Grand Canal Museum, Beijing City Library, Beijing Arts Center, Grand Canal Forest Park, Green Heart Forest Park, and Songzhuang Art & Creative Village, offering easy access to popular attractions in Beijing's sub-center.

9. Campus Transportation

Both South Gate 1 and the West Gate of the Tongzhou campus are open to the public and easily accessible by subway. To reach South Gate 1, take Metro Line 6 to Lucheng Station, exit at Exit A, and walk 400 meters. For the West Gate, take Metro Line 6 to Dongxiayuan Station, exit at Exit B, and walk approximately 500 meters northeast. Students (both residents and non-residents), along with vehicles (including buses), can access the campus via either South Gate 1 or the West Gate. The campus is approximately 35 km from Beijing Capital International Airport, a 45-minute drive, and 66 km from Beijing Daxing International Airport, about a 70-minute drive.
