To foster alumni connections and enhance the alumni networking mechanism, the School of Continuing Education held a series of alumni representative meetings during the spring semester of the 2024 academic year. From March to June, the school organized four events, with a total of 24 alumni from adult education and online education participating. The school leadership actively participated, engaging in cordial discussions with the attending alumni.
During the meetings, Han Xiaoning, Dean of the School of Continuing Education, shared the progress of the school’s alumni initiatives. Over the years, the school has built a substantial alumni base, spread across various industries nationwide. Looking towards future development, the school has established several regulations and made significant efforts in collecting alumni information, gathering historical archives, showcasing outstanding alumni, and setting up alumni WeChat networking groups. These initiatives aim to promote a variety of alumni activities, combining online and offline engagement. The establishment of the School of Continuing Education Branch of the Alumni Association last year signifies the university's recognition of this extensive alumni network.
The school is now accelerating its alumni efforts, focusing on three main areas for the future. Firstly, to unite alumni by establishing a comprehensive alumni connection system; secondly, to serve alumni by supporting their lifelong growth and career development; and thirdly, to serve the university by providing high-quality resources for both the university and the school. The school will continue to initiate alumni meetings, enhancing communication and promoting mutual development.
At the meetings, alumni acknowledged that the school’s proactive approach in engaging with alumni is a significant first step. It helps bridge the gap between alumni, understand their needs, and demonstrates the school’s determination in developing these initiatives. They hope for closer ties between alumni and the school, fostering mutual growth and expanding the alumni community.
The attending alumni actively participated in the discussions, offering valuable suggestions for the further development of alumni connections. They also expressed their expectations for the school to organize various activities that meet alumni needs and enhance the influence of continuing education. Such activities would promote interaction between the school and alumni, as well as among the alumni themselves, empowering the school’s alumni network by leveraging their resources.
