To enhance emergency preparedness and first-aid infrastructure at the School of Continuing Education, alumnus Shen Buyu (Class of 2012) generously donated multiple Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). This contribution not only reinforces campus health and safety measures but also demonstrates the enduring bond between alumni and their alma mater.

To further raise awareness and improve emergency response skills, an AED training session was held on March 28. Thirty faculty members participated in a comprehensive training program combining theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice, led by professional instructors.
During the theoretical session, instructor Li Yan explained AED management and usage protocols, covering key skills such as CPR, trauma care, and AED operation. Emphasis was placed on the critical importance of CPR and the “Golden Four Minutes” window for saving lives. Participants listened attentively, asked questions, and took detailed notes.
In the practical session, participants divided into groups to practice CPR and AED procedures on mannequins. Instructors provided step-by-step guidance, correcting mistakes and ensuring proper technique.
From turning on the AED device to placing electrodes and administering shocks, every step required precision. The training also covered assessing patient consciousness, breathing status, and performing safe and effective chest compressions.
Through this AED training, participants not only acquired essential first-aid skills but also deepened their understanding of the critical importance of the “golden rescue time.”
